That was inspiring!

Great speech by Obama on the economy.
Looks like the plan is still to spend tax dollars to increase funds so that you can borrow and then spend more!

I love this line -
"I know how difficult it is for members of Congress in both parties to grapple with some of the big decisions we face right now," Obama said. "It's more than most Congresses and most presidents have to deal with in a lifetime. But we have been called to govern in extraordinary times."

Are you kidding me????? This guy needs a history book.

He's an amazing person. I feel blessed that he is here for us. He's not too impressed with himself. POS

Raven 04-14-2009 01:27 PM

missed it....

he just needs to can that big grin of his

drop all the puns and jokes....

he and bush are\were not in office to be comedians

and to act extremely serious all the time....
------------------------------------------------------------------
too bad Howard Hughs flying goose plane didn't help to create a
launch vehicle for smaller PT boats to stop all the pirates
or.........
they need to launch out of carriers similar to the movie water world

then again we do have jets with lasers
on the nose of the aircraft

or send in some drones....first fishing boat seen with ak47's
gets a missile....via joystick.

because hey! those pirate a-holes are disrupting the world trade and economy after all

I thought he did a fine job. He has a lot of balls in the air, but the situation calls for it.

Because buckman disagrees with things Obama does, Obama is therefore a POS.

It really does sum up the difference between anti-Bush and anti-Obama.

The vast majority of the anti-Bush crowd, i.e. most of America, formed their opinion from Bush's policy mistakes, hubris and results.

The vast majority of the anti-Obama crowd, i.e. a minority of Americans whipped into a frenzy by a select few wingnut pundits, is basing their opinion from what they think Obama will do or on what they blame Obama for but what he's really inherited.

Now that's not to say there isn't some Obama policy that should deserve Conservative scorn. They haven't tried to reign in spending for instance, I'll give you that.

But most of the critique I see here on this forum and from the Right isn't really based on anything resembling objectivity. Is Obama perfect? No...is he a Liberal? to some degree yes, but can anyone tell me what that really means?

Is he going change the fundamental cause of America? Not a chance...

Get real everyone.

I had suspected that some on the Right would soon resemble the far Left loonies that would insist Bush's choice of necktie that afternoon was a sign of his desire to spread evil throughout the world.

But I had no idea it would happen so fast.

There's not much else to do but to complain, vigorously as we haven't turned the corner yet, as this quarters earnings statements will continue to show.

Sorry about the POS comment.I think I heard worse about Bush. While the pirates were a nice distraction from reality the fact that he is destroying the fabric of America was not lost by me. You wishful thinkers and Cool Aid drinkers can believe your heading to the promise land but I believe He, Pelosi and the the rest of your apostles are ruining our country.
And JD, He spending TRILLIONS and 100 teachers are being layed off. Kind of makes you wonder, eh?

The Fed is "printing" trillions and I think the only stimulus money has gone into "shovel ready" project like the schweet new granite curbs on Main Road in Tiverton :hihi:

I listen to no pundits.
I post FACTS and my opinions about them and you guys NEVER respond directly, although spence does to some degree.
here is a DIRECT quote from Obama

I know how difficult it is for members of Congress in both parties to grapple with some of the big decisions we face right now," Obama said. "It's more than most Congresses and most presidents have to deal with in a lifetime. But we have been called to govern in extraordinary times."

ARE YOU F"IN KIDDING ME????? World Wars, Depressions, CIVIL WAR and lets not forget an attack on Amercian soil killing thousands of civilans and Obama thinks he has it worse than that?????? Dont you guys see the self infalted arrogance in EVERYTHING this guy does? His speach was ANOTHER campaign speech. Nothing but rhetoric! The guy is a pompous, arrogant ass.

striperman36 04-15-2009 07:57 AM

How different is that from attempting to be confident and inspiring?

I thought the whole teachers losing jobs was just "the schools doing what the always do. They'll be fine." Or is that only the case when it supports your argument.

Obama is a plant from communists in China who want to undermine the stability of the country. Not to mention that he fits the description of the anti-christ. Everyone hide your guns and bibles! Obama is coming for your children!
