So Palin Didn't Know What Africa Was...

...and had no idea how many countries are on the North American continent.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph

Well, I kept saying every time I looked into her eyes all I could see behind them was an empty lot.

Scary. Real scary

BigFish 11-07-2008 09:03 AM

But she looks good!:hihi: It amazes me what people do not know!:eek5::conf::tm:

Bronko 11-07-2008 09:11 AM

Barak visited 57 states during his campaign.

The Dad Fisherman 11-07-2008 09:31 AM

And some people even mis-spell the President-Elects name still :hihi:

RIJIMMY 11-07-2008 09:41 AM

a 100% perfect example of how heresay becomes news. I expect the press to ask-
who is the source?
What was the context of the discussion.
They report noise, while their JOB is to research and report the facts.
Notice its only on the republican side. How many "rumors", many whacky things about Obama, however, they are not reported in the same manner. I know I beat a dead horse about media bias, but the examples are so stunningly clear. heresay is NOT reportable. news

my question to you Crafty is simple.....Prove it
Thats the job of the media. When it comes to Republicans, the media is the equivalent of the National Enquirer. Dan Rather anyone?

Fox news Anyone....

"As Fox News's Carl Cameron reported Wednesday, Palin allegedly thought Africa was a country -- not a continent -- and didn't know which countries were a party to the North American Free Trade Agreement. (That would be the US, Mexico and Canada.)"

With all due respect, if brains were dynamite, that woman couldn't blow her nose.

McCain selected her because 1.) She was a woman, and he wanted to appeal to female voters, and 2.) She's a wacko right-wing, gun-totin' born-again redneck who would be better suited to a trailer park than the Oval Office. And that was the the constituency he was appealing to on that count.

She also completely misunderstood the office of the Vice President and it's duties and responsibilities, stating - on tape - that it would be her job to run Congress, when in fact that's not...uhhhh... quite the case. Obviously she spent her time in Civics class applying make-up and fretting over her hair.

I dunno, if the Republicans decide they want to run Caribou Barbie for the Presidency in 2012, let 'em go absolutely n#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g futs.

:)

In simpler terms, McCain knew he was beat unless he chose a total 'game changer'.. a person who would compete with Obama's votes.. so he chose a hot woman. If McCain had chosed a man, he would not be able to take away any of Obama's votes..
The thinking was that she would steal all of the people that were going to vote for hillary...

on a side note- if you divide the campain spending to votes, Obama spent $10 for every vote and McCain spent 10 cents for every vote..

amazing..

For the love of God, I hope Obama gets this country back on track, or at the very least the GOP gets its act together and realigns itself with the fundamentals that they were once known for..

I'm with you Nebe - I think it's going to take a young man - and man, is it weird to have a President that's younger than you are - to inspire people to straighten this ****ing mess out that Bush has created.

Vitriol aside, I don't honestly think McCain/Palin would have done that - this country has been that seriously damaged, economically and spiritually.

Nebe, given your age, you would have no way of knowing what it felt like to have listened to Dr. King, JFK and especially his brother Bobby, who would have been, I believe, the man to bring the country back together after the assassinations. Regardless of all the things now 'discovered' about those men to discredit them, they created an atmosphere that would have inspired us to a more compassionate approach to our own people and those in the world around us. And that is not to say we wouldn't have been more than ready to kick a$$ when necessary anywhere we were threatened.

Anger and fear are powerful and dangerously volatile emotions and they were used to great advantage by Bush et al. to manipulate the country - let's face it, they had Americans hypnotized and hysterical with a new threat every week.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I feel Barack will lead us back in the direction of the ideals the country was founded on and has been moved so far away from and make us a more humane and compassionate society.

He can't do it alone and certainly won't by himself. It's up to us to turn to and make this country live up to it's promise.

Well said. I hope the first thing he does is get rid of the torture memos by Yoo and Addington, closes Gitmo, tighten the clamps on the FBI back to near where they were before 9/11.

Technically, she was right. Her response was the 'textbook answer.' According to the constitution, the Vice President's job is "President of the Senate," a more symbolic position than anything.

However, her response is laughable because it clearly demonstrates what my opinion of her has been all along - she is completely disassociated with the main politics of this country and won't have a clue as to the real concerns of the average American.

That and I couldn't stand to listen to her talk for more than 10 seconds. "By golly, gee gosh" I'm glad we will be rid of her.

FishermanTim 11-07-2008 11:26 AM

Then there's the "Dan Quayle" approach taken by Biden.

How do you spell that 3 letter word? J-O-B-S

RIJIMMY 11-07-2008 11:40 AM

so once again, help me understand why hersay is news?
For example, some blogger posts that her child is really Palin's daughters and that suddenly becomes headline news? Thats not right. The press should research issues.
I guess we should expect the same scrutiny with Obama? Not likely, invest 6 minutes of your life by watching this........the troubles me more than I can say

bssb 11-07-2008 01:29 PM

"cable news" should really be called "people on TV give you their opinions of some stuff that might have happened today"

FishermanTim 11-07-2008 01:39 PM

or "expert news reported by people who aren't experts, reporting on stuff that isn't news".

The Dad Fisherman 11-07-2008 02:02 PM

One correction, it's - Oprah spent $10 for every 'anonymous' vote.

It's the redistribution of wealth, dude -

The GOP concentrated most of theirs in the hanging chad election by giving it all to Katherine Harris - hey, she earned it, I suppose :hihi:

Check this out, and then try to tell me that there's anyone home behind that 15 watt porch light :rotf3:

And this isn't Tina Fey doing a SNL skit--this is legitimately your gal Sarah.
