Pullet Hens

Need to reduce the flock a little. I want to sell 6 various breed brown egg layers. 18 weeks old.

They Taste Like Chicken......Oh Yeah, They Are Chickens.

Curious what it takes for upkeep on these

Everyone should raise chickens. If you are thinking about it, do it. You won't regret it. Easy to care for and great with kids.

I'd like a rooster to wake the whole neighborhood!:uhuh:

Predator free coup (easy to build). Coup can be smaller than one might think. Automatic feeder and waterer. Check em daily and collect eggs. Not much to it. If you have electric to the coup ( even an extension chord) a light on a timer and a heated water container are helpful. I built a run, but they free range when we are home. Also can use poultry netting with a charger if you wanna fence them.

What do you do with them during the winter

No named chickens will be sold, probably a mix of Murray McMurray red Stars and White Rocks, kids have sentimental attachment to the rest..

They are fine in the winter. The laying slows down, but a light on a timer helps. If the coup is small enough, they keep it warm with body heat.
