The Scum of the Earth

We talk about it here a lot. Thieves. Just walked outside to go get my coffee and my wife's car is gone. 2009 Honda Pilot, 2 brandnew car seats, a $500 2-child jogging stroller and a couple of my Titleist Irons. I am in a complete rage.:fury:

Thieves suck.

You are not far from what has always been a hotbed of vehicle thievery.

ProfessorM 09-13-2009 09:12 AM

Same here - probably have something, older, but have something if you need something for now.

I feel your pain, Bronko. :(

Last week my daughter-in-law took their Honda Odessey to the mall to get
the kids some school supplies. The car is all set up for their 4 kids, 2 car seats etc.
She comes out the car is gone.

She calls 911 and the police see her car going down the highway. Two guys that stole it panicked and ended up in a 3 car accident totaling the car. One guy was trapped in the car the other ran in the woods but the police got him after tracking with the dogs.
Both on drugs, both in jail for Grand Car Theft.

What a mess all the way around. :(

Scum bags for sure.

Car found. Partially stripped and burned out. Detectives are holding it, may have been involved in a crime. Good times!

Raven 09-13-2009 07:45 PM

tynan19 09-14-2009 08:44 AM

Sorry for what you are going through Bronko. I hope they get the thieves.

Swimmer 09-14-2009 09:16 AM

Hey Bronko maybe the judge will appoint you as his attorney after he is arraigned, and then you can really put the screws to him.

Just kidding, I know you would not allow that to happen.

I had a brand new minivan stolen from my lighted driveway about 10 years ago. The a**holes drove it down the railroad tracks apparently for fun after using to move items (stolen?). The bill was over $10K to fix but not totaled, never right afterward.

I now put alarms/tracking in all my vehicles. However I know in some cases I need to report vehicle as missing BEFORE any tracking can be done. This is sometimes too late to prevent damage. Helps on the auto insurance end of the bills, however.

I was about 19 working three jobs and busted my butt to buy a firebird....had it two months before it was stolen.....brike my heart.I feel your pain.....

PRBuzz 09-15-2009 07:20 PM

Just in case anyone interested, most of the time you have to go through a 3rd party, such as the police, to track a vehicle if it happens to have an anti-theft GPS. I subscribed to a service where I can find my truck 24/7 real-time right from my home PC:

GuidePoint Systems - Track your vehicle - Get: directions, road information, Emergency help, Restaurant or hotel reservations, Your cars GPS location

They also let you know when you battery is low on power, a handy service.
