!!! 70 mph WINDS Possible !!!

Hey, just what a local weatherman just said... :fury:

just a heads up for those on the COAST

striperman36 03-25-2014 03:43 PM

Primarily Hyannis and the Islands.

Less closer to the canal, do expect 45-50mph gusts here in NPT tomorrow.

Damn this is a big storm. Very glad it slid off shore and just grazed the coast. Offshore buoys just recorded a 118mph gust. Check out this Satellite Image.

Beyond possible. USCG Chatham Light was flying hurricane force warnings earlier this morning.

Probably a little snotty out at Oceanographer's right now.

What did they name this storm?
Surely it deserves a name just like every other storm we've had this past year?

buckman 03-26-2014 02:33 PM

Weather Channel said they only name storms that hit major populations and that's why this one wasn't named .

this may sound trivial, but i was seeing some things going sideways
they were last years leaves one by one
and they'd go in a circle 200 feet in the air and then disappear
very weird

118mph buoy 44027 958mb central pressure at peak.

Buoy 44027 is 20 nm southeast of Jonesport, ME. I was looking at that data yesterday. Even the sustained winds were just a bit short of hurricane force.

I wonder what readings came out of places like PEI and Nova Scotia?
