Could you expand on your McCarthy's playbook comment? I am reading three books on McCarthy and on the Venona papers. The story they tell "debunks" the accepted narrative on McCarthy.

I googled the Snopes article on Huma Abedin's connection to the Muslim Brotherhood. The Article did not document any proof that there was no connection. It merely stated that they could not fine one. And then it cited John McCain's defense of Abedin, which also did not prove anything, but merely said he Knew her and traveled with her and Hillary.

I guess we're just supposed to take the words of Snopes and McCain.

On the other hand, there were various other articles that explored the question in much more detail and documentation. This one, for instance:
