IMHO the political forum needs to be deleted and the political talk needs to end here. I'm certain many people have left because they read one too may negative polarizing post.

If say leave it. I don't usually go in there but atleast there is the option. Some of those guys love to go at it. It's like a strip club. If you find it offensive just don't go there.

A friendly observation
I liken SB to a forum I joined back in the late 90's. It was run by the people that produce the design software I use. The posts became censured by the software people so only the good side of the program was available to read about. We started another forum on Yahoo some time after that and became larger than the company owned. It's all but dead now but we had close to a 10 yr. run. Met and communicated with some great folks from all over the planet.
I like to think I was a strong contributor,,,, I and other full time users of the software must have answered some of the same questions a million times. Answering a question with "do a search" was a no no. The cool part of it was that over the years a lot of the people who where asking a ton of questions began to take over answering the greenies questions or adding to an answer that may have been too short. The site grew!
The software people finally followed suite with their competitors with a well run open forum, that, along with one of the down turns in the economy did us in.

Another observation (going to catch hell for this one)
It's my opinion the threads that read like a private conversation about something that went down last night or happened recently and only the people participating in the thread have the slightest idea what happened probably turns people away. Seem to me if someone is going to spend the time to participate on line and become involved (contribute?) with SB activities, they'll be less apt to given the above.

With that said,,,, At my age I don't understand a f*&%^&%n thing anybody is talking about here, especially all the f)&*(*%n letters,,,,, it took me a month last winter to figure out (find out?) tfctfn ..... LOL :biglaugh:

Its done a great job of polarizing people against one another for lame effing reasons. It really began the downfall of this place.
Hell, its a good portion of the reason He Who Shall Not Be Mentioned isn't here anymore. Before that forum, yeah he was/is a little loopy, but it just sent him over the top on here. I still consider him a good friend and am happy to see him at the shows. But not online.

I have always come here and have meet a few guys here! This is a great site! But over the years I have started my own site that takes up a lot of my time, and now have sold my boat due to health reasons. I have only fished 3 times this year :( I have never been much of a shore guy and really not sure on how to or were to go fishing. I know the canal is close to me, but I can't get down the rocks or even walk that far so I just stay away. I have had a few offers from guys here but taking me out is like going with a 3 year old! I can't tie my own line bait most hooks or even gret the fish off the line as my hands are shot from my health. Guys I have fished with for years understand and when I go with them, they help me a lot! Gut to the guys here that have offered I don't want to be a burden to anyone. So i sit on the side lines reading all the posts and not saying much, but make no mistake I am still here and greatful to all for the help and offers everyone has offered!!

I gave away all my secrets and spots. Now I have nothing fishing related to contribute. I did go fishing 1 time this year, in August. Caught some nice weeds..I might go again in a few days.. lol
