Tony:
I had such a great year in the Bay on my boat. I just can't stay motivated to fish all night hopping rock for a skunk.
I know, I know, boat fish don't count but when I can catch and release 5, 30 lb + in a couple of hours on my boat, I just don't see the point of killing myself in the surf anymore.
41 years I in the surf has finally started to catch up with me. Knees, back, legs all hurt in November. See you in the Spring. :wavey: :wavey:

rwilhelm 11-13-2006 12:22 PM

I will probably fish for another 2 weeks and then I am done.

Finlander 11-13-2006 12:22 PM

I'm done, Sat we had a few small bass and a few blues to 12 lbs in R.I. but like most tough fall on the cape and soco. Mostly small and you had to work for them. Still hope to try a cod and/or blackfish trip or two the next couple of weeks, but the rod rack are put away till next season.

RIROCKHOUND 11-13-2006 12:25 PM

Never....
They can take our lives but they cant take our Fishing!!!!!!

Actually I'm winding down, the water is still very warm, but without bait = no good fish, so I'll keep pluggin along for another 2 weeks.. after turkey day I'm almost done, except for blackfish...

STREETFIGHT 11-13-2006 01:36 PM

not done yet- but i'm not holding out much hope due to lack of bait.

Pete F. 11-13-2006 05:37 PM

I hate to say it but I ...think...that's...all...folks.
Well at least for me, unless I take the big ride to Joisey.
I have a hard time driving 10 hrs to catch rats never mind a skunkin.

BobT 11-13-2006 06:41 PM

All done. Kid can't get another weekend off for a couple more weeks and I'm tired of catching soooooooooo many small fish. Bad year for big fish for me.

Slammer223 11-13-2006 09:38 PM

I'm going mackerel fishing in the Canal this week.

goosefish 11-14-2006 06:17 AM

Unless we make a ~T-Day-ish dawn bluefish run......

HESH2 11-14-2006 08:15 AM

have been catching schoolie fishing lite tackle and having fun if weather holds going to try till end of nov.

PrisonFish 11-14-2006 08:34 AM

I've had a very productive past few weeks, much better than years past. And in years past I've fishied into late december.....So got plenty of time to go!:boots:

denport 11-14-2006 05:43 PM

I just brought my gear to the storage unit today. There were a few tears.:err: :crying: But trout fishing is still very good! Right? At least there is a tug on the end of my line. Besides, it's almost April!!

denport 11-14-2006 05:50 PM

But.... I have relatives moving to the Myrtle area in a couple of months. Woo-hooooo!:bounce:

CowHunter 11-14-2006 05:55 PM

Going out in an hour or so and beat on some fish....Buddy of mine just had some to 44lbs...Some awesome weather!

Sluggoslinger 11-14-2006 06:00 PM

I'm done with striper for the year.

I might try to get out to do some ice fishing over the winter.

tynan19 11-14-2006 07:46 PM

I am not done till there is snow to ride on.

redlite 11-14-2006 09:07 PM

canalman and I were talkin about it the other night as us and Redcrabber pulled our pork for a while.
We have never felt so defeated so early in the year.
The weather is so warm and fishable and dark, but the waters around us that are usually prime time right now still look like a large regular Dunks coffee. It has been brown for over 2 weeks now since that big storm. and the reports from further south (or west) are pretty dismal as well.
sad to say, but I think the fat lady has sang......
but then agian, I will let you know in a little while. I still got a dozen select eels that I have somehow managed not to kill, so I either gots to swim them, or free them (or decorate some cars)....
I'm off for some more punishment...Tonite is THE NITE. It has GOT to happen...or its "Plan B" sesaon fo me.......
ad to say it,

Skitterpop 11-14-2006 10:51 PM

There are keeper size bass still in Mass........... some twenties to thirties....and who knows about the small pods of giant cows?

BigFish 11-14-2006 10:54 PM

Give it up Skitter....tell us what you know or I will sit you under a hot light and beat you with a banana peel!:lasso:

BigFish 11-14-2006 10:56 PM

"Pork Pulling" seems to be the latest pastime!:hidin:

BigFish 11-14-2006 11:00 PM

Everyone grab a torch and meet me on Skitterpops front lawn....he knows where the monster is and he won't tell!!! Dr. Skitterpopstein must tell us!

Now you`re talking....got leather mask? :spin:

jimmy z 11-16-2006 05:16 AM

I'll make a couple more runs. I had a decent season, some nice size bass. I have to say it. I had a blast. The seasons go as the season's go. They are all good, and I enjoy the heck out of 'em all.:D

Mr. Sandman 11-16-2006 08:10 AM

Still have a bucket of eels at the dock. Put away 95% of my gear away, just 2 surf rods and reels and a couple plug bags remain. Reels will be sent in in Dec. Boat is winterized but needs to be covered

I have been meaning to test the surf but got tied up with other matters. They are still getting a few and I may get out for a few more surf trips but that is about it. There is a lot of other things to do around the water to keep me busy. Shellfish for one. I get a bigger kick about catching a bushell of scallops then a couple schoolie bass anyway.

Mike P 11-16-2006 08:58 AM

Unconfirmed rumors of a blitz of 12 lb + blues yesterday, "somewhere north of the Canal" ;)

Ake G 11-16-2006 09:44 AM

Not finished Stripering until the snow really starts to fall.

But it is a good time for drifting scuds for Sea-runs up here...You actually CATCH! fish.....

steve 11-16-2006 12:57 PM

It's all over. Time to look in Providence. They are catching fish there already.

Canalman 11-16-2006 01:25 PM

I've never given up this early, but those storms we had destroyed the water in my area. We had nice fish here right before the storm, but the water has been clean a total of 3 days out of 16 in Nov... I've caught 7 fish in Nov and my last was a Blue! :af: it was 37" but now I have to go through the winter with my last surf fish a %$%$%$%$ing bluefish!

It isn't over up here and I think the Rhode Island boyz might have finny visitors soon as these aren't little holdover fish, for the first time this fall we have consistent bait, peanuts, tinker macks and 6 inch long silversides and the fish are barfing them up. Last night looking east in a southeast swell and alone my arm was sore and it's nice to be able to leave fish when they are still hitting cause you caught enough. There have been many years where bass are caught on the cape beaches while snowflakes flutter down around you. This is going to be one of those years. Hint: you need to get a one day permit now at the CCNS station to run the beach, if you had a permit there is no cost for it but you must sign in. Yesterday was the last legal day to run the beach with the red 2006 permit. ANd you will have to air up in town.:bl:
