VF...they might have won but that was the most painful performance by a Superbowl winning team that has won that I have ever seen.
|
[ I wish I could watch the whole game BUT I gotta go to stupid bed( Life of a trucker) I want to be alert so I don't drive over a 4 wheeler making a 3 lane exit to his ramp to go to work you think it's easy come for a ride with me OH YEA bring a depends cause I'm gonna scare the SH!+ out of ya.
Link Sr.[/QUOTE] I know just how you feel. Try running Providence to Brooklyn to Jersey City to Boston, and back to Providence every night!! Glad I am retired . |
piss poor game, but a "W" is all that counts and take it anyway you can get it.
|
seemed more like
a pre -game than a super bowl...
it was a farce. |
Said it before....do away with all the pomp and circumstance and just play the friggen game!!!! Money ruins everything!:lossinit:
|
forgot to mention
one of the respondents on that other site
said it best... thats it ! i'm done with football.... no.... not that....which is BS he said... i have other hobbies.... i agree.... and i'll leave it at that |
I love Hines Ward. But I still think the MVP should have gone to the ref, Leavey. The game turned around on two calls--the bogus hold on Seattle's RT that took the ball from the one, and the 15 yards they tacked on to the INT on the strangest call I've ever heard off--a "block" below the waist on Hasselbeck when he tackled the DB by going low  That took the ball to close to midfield, and gave the Steelers the right field position to run the flanker reverse/option pass. They wouuldn't have run that play from their own 35 :hs:
That being said--Seattle still has only themselves to blame. Missed opportunities galore, and horrible clock management--Holmgren turned into Herman Edwards :rollem: I can't recall a SB that had two horrible performances from the QBs. |
I thought Hasselbeck played a great game....26 completions and 270 yards and his recievers dropped alot of bread basket balls.......they sucked! He would have had a couple more TD's and another 125 yards passing if the receivers brought their hands with them!
I can't believe one of the other officials did not argue to change that "block" call for cryin' out loud! Horrible officiating...probably the worst I have ever seen....and in the biggest game of the year no less!:behead: |
I think there should be a full investigation on the officials...seriously. The 12th man was wearing white and black. One play that stood out in my mind was the end of the half when a seahawk receiver had one foot inbounds and possession, it looked like it had gone over the mark....under 2minutes they had to reveiw that. Whats up with that SH coach and officaiting crew?? On B Roths td, only when the official got near the ball did he call it in. When that play was reveiwed he should have taken that into consideration. Pitts didn't play their best game but hung in there.
|
Seattle did a horrible job at managing the clock. What 2 minute drill?? It was like they were in no hurry to loose. WTF, Holmgren's been there before, I was in shock. And to attempt 2 50+ yard field goals?? Did they forget that they have the best rb in the league...Go for it on 4th...It is the Superbowl.:whackin:
|
sumthin
was really weird about that game....
something off....hard to describe... nothing went right from the begining to the end of the super bowl....like it was jinxed. nothing felt right... just my impression. |
All I can say is how sad its all become when when the two biggest stories to come out of the game are how lame Aaron Neville and the Stones were and how good the commercials were.
Every sports show talked about nothing but those two subjects. Game? What Game? Its all about the $$$$$$$$. |
Nevermind the bogus offensive holding call negating a Seattle TD
VF enjoy it while it last cause based on las nights performance you guys will be lucky to get back next year without someserious upgrades. |
ESPN just announced SB ref's will be in the parade tomorrow:eek:

I just read on espn.com That both Joe Montana & Terry Bradshaw would not show up with the rest on the past super bowl MVPs because the NFL would not pay them what they wanted !!! |
Ya, I was wondering where Monttana was.
found out today he wanted $100000 gauranteed appearances fees sounds like alot to me, and from what I hear he would have gotten more but he wanted it for sure, so I guess the nfl said no. Goose, :D good one |
I was wondering the same thing...where was Montana and Bradshaw? Guys like that are the reason that sports is not what it used to be! Screw them both!:realmad:
|
hey Larry
just be thankful that Joe Namath wasn't drunk.... and those other guys werent offered what their agent$ wanted so they said nope.
|
Bradshaw said He just plain didnt want to go to the Superbowl..It had nothing to do with the money. He said unless Fox does the Superbowl he doesnt go...
|
did terry ever make nice with the pitt organization? i know he had some hard feelings toward them.

According to Terry before the superbowl he called Rooney and explained to him why he wasn't going and Rooney said no problem,he understood...
|
probably
just wanted to drink beers and swear with his buddies.... :rotf3:
knowing Terry... he's one of the funniest guys around i think.... http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...1/bradshaw.jpg |

That was Suzie Kolber and she was a side line reporter for espn for the super bowl!!! I wonder if Joe tried to hit on her again !!! |
From what I heard today on weei
Seems Joe Montana has been a greedy bastard all along!!! He refused showing up at his old high school 10 years ago because they wouldn't pay his fee also! He gave some stupid excuse for not showing up for the super bowl, said he was fisnished with football and has moved on, Yet the greedy bastard only gives autographs if you pay something like $150.00, and for something like $175.00 you can get your pic taken with him! I used to like the guy, USED TO !!!:smash: |
It just turns my stomach how much these athletes get paid when they play and then when they retire they pull stunts like this. After all isn't it the fans that have supported him in the past? If Joe Montana turned out to be a mediocre player the fans would have been at the games paying his salary, I think that players lose sight of reality for the most part. I would love to have him ask me for $ 150 to get an autograph someone would have get me oxygen from laughing so friggin hard in his face

I heard today that the back judge that made 2 "questionable" calls was from Pittsburgh...Not saying he did it on purpose ..NFL should screen them better especially with the super bowl..Remove all questions..:smash:

It could have been worst for Seattle than all those bogus calls The game could have ended with them loosing because of a F*#:ing tuck rule call !:crying: :crying: :crying: |
the rules is rules ronnie :rotf2:

And what amazes me most is that the Raiders dissappeared after that year, I would have guesses they would have been in contention:huh: |
Quote:
But got killed by their ex coach who knew every play that was coming because they were his plays !!! Then the next season Rich Gannon broke his neck !!! Now we have Kerry Collins :crying: |
At least the tuck call was a legit rule....
|

But, he did suck less in his SB than Gannon did :humpty: |
