The above concert was back in the day.

More recently I saw Chris Robinson and New Earth Mud ( his post Black Crowes band) open for Warren Haynes and Gov't Mule at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, Nov. 2004
An awesome 4+ hour show.

Frank Zappa at the Providence Civic Center, Page/Plant at the Omni in Atlanta or the Allman Brothers Band in Savannah (with Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks on guitar).

Eric Clapton

I have been to every clapton concert in the boston area since 1987.
The best one being 2004 at tweeter center. I saw both shows and one I was 8 rows from the stage. Absolutely amazing from that close up. He dug out some really old ones including "got to get better in a little while" which he played like he was on fire.

His 90 and 92 tours were spectacular too.

I also saw Eric Johnson at the Paradise Rock Club in boston in 2004.
He is also an amazing guitar player. Good thing I brought my ER-20's
(high fidelity earplugs), because that was the loudest concert I have ever been to. As the old saying goes, I never travel without them.....

Early 80’s King Crimson on the pier in NYC and ASIA in a (supposedly) acoustically perfect auditorium in the middle of Iowa.

Mako Mike -

I was there, what a F'n show, Outside York Street rocked all night, Keith drinkin' Rebel. Fantastic! There were few there, 300 ya think? Prob. less...

U2, Boston Garden, St. Paddy's Day - WOW - think it was 92
Black Crowes, Easter Sunday Hammerstein Ballroom - 05, best version of "My Morning song" ever
PJ Springfield Civic Center, General Admission - 93 - sick!

capecodder 01-03-2006 12:03 PM

Some of the best in no order

Clash at Prov Civic Center 81ish?
Bowie at Foxboro in 83
Police at Foxboro with the Fixx in 83 and again at Prov Civ Center in the winter
Ben Folds at Avalon 2005
Beck at the Orpheum ~ 2000 on the Midnite Vultures tour -- one of the best ever.
B-52s at Toads in New Haven in 89
REM in Nashville 85
10,000 Maniacs in Nashville 85
Who at Tweeter Center in 2003

Biggest regret is not seeing Dire Straits...

MakoMike 01-03-2006 03:41 PM

Iceman,
I don't think there were anywhere near 300 of us there during the show. Afterward maybe, there were a lot of folks out on the street that showed up after they locked the doors.
