Democrats have announced that it's time to take this fight to the streets :rotf2:. You in? |
Losing NOAA would be devastating. Project 2025 authors want to get rid of it because it monitors climate change, and privatize the information it currently provides for free, so you'll have to buy information about the weather and the winds (nobody uses that).

Just remember that your life story, harnessing ingenuity and immense talent to build a house and career would be far less likely under Trump’s vision of America. |
Trump on Iran possibly assassinating him: "If they did that, they would be obliterated. That would be the end. I've left instructions."
The way he’s going, he'll have to leave instructions for retaliation against most of the free world. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

It seems impossible that we'll avoid a government shutdown. Many in Trump's inner circle desperately want one.
Perfect opportunity for Trump to disband Congress. First, engineer a shutdown (there’s actually nothing to engineer- just have Rs on the Hill say they’re having trouble negotiating a spending bill. Let the funding expire without any agreement. Blame Ds for not being reasonable.) Then, tell everyone that Congress cannot meet the demands of the moment, but as President, he will make sure that spending continues even without any law to direct that spending. “I will make those spending decisions on behalf of the American people. That’s what they elected me to do.” As a bonus, he could use the never-used constitutional provision that allows the president to adjourn Congress. He could declare the 119th Congress adjourned sine die. Hill Rs would probably agree that they’ve been sent home and have no authority to meet or conduct business. The corporate media response would likely focus on substance versus process. Sure, Trump is now ruling unconstitutionally by dictatorial fiat alone, but the alternative was a debilitating shutdown caused by those feckless idiots in Congress. Isn’t it good that Trump saved the economy from those cretins? I think the legal uncertainty of the outlays would cause market related chaos. I also think they are not competent enough to pull this off cleanly enough to work and that the media has a preexisting framework around shutdowns and the debt ceiling that more (but not all) of them would wake up. But I'm a little busy with a couple of million dollar homes right now. You don't sound to busy...and I see you’re just an amateur but something you could tackle. 😉 |

I’ve heard for far less you can pre-buy into a new timeshare development on the Med. Neighborhood is poised for rapid gentrification but you need to get in early. |

Killing off USAID... there goes a huge amount of our global influence, particularly in Africa, which will open the door to China there even further. So much for the compassionate conservatism of GWB....

take it to the streets. :rotflmao: |
In George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, the ultimate act of rebellion comes when Winston Smith insists that two plus two equals four, defying a system that demands he accept whatever reality the Party declares. The Party doesn’t just want him to say two plus two equals five—they want him to believe it. This demand that citizens deny obvious truth isn’t just about controlling specific facts; it’s about breaking their capacity to think clearly about reality itself.

Not to mention the void that famine creates empowering ISIS and Boko Haram. Anyone remember “fight them over there so we don’t have to fight them at home?” Probably the best ROI of any taxpayer outlay are those brown burlap bags with a big USAid printed all over. |

If you sit back and look at the big picture, almost everything the Felon and FElon have done it’s easy to see why Zi Jinping is grinning.
Alienating our allies with tariffs and threats Removing all our foreign aid which did two things, made us look good by providing them things(bought from American suppliers) and provided us with CIA cover closely embedded. Cuts the CIA, we now have a large number of people who know how our intelligence agencies work, pissed and without employment. All they need to do is turn one to do substantial damage. Sends the White House a list of all the CIA hires in the past two years in an unclassified email, thru the system that FElon and his munchkins have been hacking and hooking unknowns into. Then cut the FBI counterterrorism units, cut protection for people with very significant information…., We are currently in the scariest place in almost 25 years and the Stable Genius spent yesterday afternoon kicking the hornets nest in the Middle East Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
