it's a sea mouse. Our cod from sunday had a bunch in em. the "hairs" are shiny/metallic. neat/weird looking thing.

what boat were you on niko?

I'd be shocked if there were not... all the cod (ok, not a ton) I've caught out there range from 1-2 worms to a dozen or more. I made a light box to candle the fillets.

the small fish had a few worms, not bad. the larger fish had none

Problem with the larger fish is it's tougher to see the worms... They're there just deep in the meat.. Blech

I've pretty much given up on the cod, it's OK but not worth the work of picking out all the critters. Now haddock, but especially redfish?? :drool:
