Man suspected of stealing luxury sailboat in Jersey City shot and killed in Rhode Island

Just sent that story to my nephew who is currently in Montana, on his way to Hawaii to sail in a race. He is a professional yacht captain who has spent too much time in Newport. Wondering if he knows this kid. A Hinckley is an awfully nice classic sailboat, but not exactly something you go steal....

Ross you know that saying- Hinckleys are to die for !
The thief went to IRYS a few years ago and couldnt find any good work apparently.
 
Was up in Maine last week; couldn't believe the headline when the story came across the feed on my phone.
I would assume this involved chemicals or a mental break of some kind....
